About Zen Garden

Zen Garden were born in 2007 by core- creators Stefanos Tortopoglou (Music: Synths, Guitars, Samplers, Programming) and Roxani Garefalaki (Vocals, Lyrics, Performance: stilts, silks).They have participated in live acts around Greece (Club Mansion, Soul, Ghost and Void Club), dressed with music the production “Deva” of the DanceTheatre Synergion of Arts and of the DanceTheatre Fygein Adynaton “Facts and Faculties”, while on the other hand they have taken part in the music orchestration of artmentary Chania/Eco.

Together with Yiannis Smeros and Yianna Medvedeva in Aerial Acrobatics- silks, Physical Theatre- stilts and Spyros Bell, member of Visual Vibe Project in live Visual Art environment, Zen Garden become a group which combines different arts in order to compose stories and dreams and thus making each performance a unique experience. In 2008 they create the multispectacle "Feeling in Process" together with Live Percussionists: Manolis Kambouris, and Giorgos Koukoulis, with this performance they were the opening act in Juno Reactor Live in Athens (19.4.08), and the opening act of international Aurora Festival (Kavala 25.8.08)

They participated in free concerts for the familiarization of public spaces (Propilaia 19/12/08) and Free Festivals by the Void Network (Space Technologies- Kratiras Theatre). They performed for the opening of Olympia Mall (Trikala 25.10.08). In 23/5/09 they create the performance Semantic with which they opened the Future Sound of London in Athens (Olympic Softball stadium- Elliniko).

In their next project, they marry electronic with pagan sound, as well as elements from various music styles (from ambient,dance and electronica to electroacoustic pop, rock and ethnic). They compose a cinematic performance with the performers and the musicians as heroes inside the magical scenery of live Visual Art.
